Workout resources online/apps that I’ve found to be useful!
This is my go-to app when I’m at the gym because it automatically creates a workout for me.
They come up with a new program every week different workouts for different days of the week. You definitely won’t be bored using the programme!
I’m currently using the “Iconic” strength programme under coach Sarah which uses dumbbells, barbells. I use it both in the gym and at home. At home i use my adjustable kettlebell instead because it is easy to switch weights quickly between exercises.
The adjustable kettlebell ranges from between 3kg- 18kg of weights, thus allowing . It’s also a one click switch and very user friendly as well.
If you’re having difficulty with coming up with varied workouts for each workout session, you can try Ladder to reduce the time taken to prepare for a workout, and let’s you concentrate on getting your workout in for the day!
2. Move with Nicole
Her voice is very soothing and calming, and she offers pilates classes, yoga classes as well as barre/ dance classes, which can be done with no equipment!
She has playlists that sort classes by duration as well eg. 5 min, 10-15 min, up to 40-45 minutes, hence allowing you to squeeze in a workout – even if you only have a short window period in which to workout.
3. Online Ballet Classes
For beginners: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gkwr5L7FX1E
For non-beginners: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrISNpG0bZk
These have gotten me through COVID times when we weren’t allowed to go out and all the dance studios were closed.
For more advanced dancers, the Dutch national ballet barre classes have been a staple for me. I really enjoy the different variations and the music, and each exercise is repeated on both sides (right and left), so you don’t have to scroll back and forth to repeat the music to do each exercise.
4. Steezy
This is a paid option but includes many many different categories including hiphop, kpop, contemporary, ballet , heels, popping, dancehall, jazz, whacking etc. It lets you try genres that you usually don’t do, and there are beginner/intermediate and advanced options.
It even has KPOP options for popular tracks like “As if its your Last” by Blackpink. You can choose to follow the mirrored version of the choreography, and you can choose to have your camera turned on as well so that you can see how you look like dancing! These features are very thoughtful and I think it’s well worth the price paid for the subscription!
