What do you think of when you think of being on a cruise?
This is my first time being on a cruise, and I had the opportunity to go on the Anthem of the Seas!
Looking through the wide variety of activities available, there were so many things that were interesting! I had to remind myself not to pack my schedule too full of things for the holiday is meant to be relaxing, not running from one activity to the next.
I had the opportunity to try table tennis, and visit the North Star capsule, which lifts you up 300 feet above sea level for a panoramic view! You can choose to do at your departure port, at sea, or even at the destination ports that you’re sailing to. Book early because slots run out fast. (Not for those scared of heights.)
I also tried the running track, which is really peaceful and great for running at 6am, and you’re able to catch the sunrise post run. Definitely a great way to get your endorphins in for the morning.
Entertainment wise, there’s never a lack of options, with many musical acts available, sometimes ongoing simultaneously.
We watched a performance by the cruise’s orchestra, which was really well executed, and the audience was bopping along to the music.
My friend and I decided to join a kpop dance class last minute, which was a fun way to kickstart the morning with some movement.
However, I was also cognisant that I wanted to set some time aside for prayer and to rest, and the Solarium was a great place to do so. With deck chairs, the sun streaming in, a few dipping pools in the middle, and even a bar, one could while many an hour away in the Solarium.
Although I wanted to make full use of the facilities on the ship, I was also intentional in trying not to pack too many things into one day, and the best part was having the option to go back to your room to rest at any point in the day for a quick nap/ shower to recharge.
I enjoyed this trip very much and am definitely looking to book a cruise again in the future.
